Tonight, 1 December 2020, at 19:52 GMT, Mercury moves from Scorpio into Sagittarius, where he will remain until the time of the winter solstice. During this period, expect to be tempted to follow your innermost compulsions, but don’t expect everything to work out as planned.
In Sagittarius, Mercury is debilitated and so Mercurial things like thoughts, ideas, and communications can easily get out of hand. Enthusiasm is usually a very good thing but over enthusiasm can be very bad. The writing on the wall in front of you may be plain as day and whilst at other times you’d read it as it was meant to be read, during this period there’s a good chance that you’ll unconsciously give it your own spin.
The problem is that you’re so longing for certainty in a particular situation, that you’ll see whatever it is that you want to see rather than what actually is. Worse, if someone challenges your interpretation of the ‘facts’, you may become so defensive that you start quoting chapter and verse. Sadly, however, that chapter and verse is more than likely to be trumped up and carved up to prove your point. Truth now becomes a point of opinion loudly and forcefully sounded rather than a more scholarly philosophical pursuit. This is not the best time to start legal proceedings and if you’re signing a contract, read each and every word carefully and then read them again. Ask questions and listen to the answers and do not let someone fob you off or gloss over the points that are important to you.
And, oh, by the way, if you catch yourself – or anyone else – on their proverbial pulpit ‘preaching’, then take special care. Again, the chances are good that the words that are spoken will express only one possible point of view. You do not need to accept that point of view if you do not want to do and likewise, no one needs to accept your own.
